About the Climate Change Scholarship
Established in memory of Dr. John Douglass Barber, this award honors his legacy and commitment to education. It supports outstanding individuals enrolling in the MSc in Climate Change Management offered by the School of GeoSciences, one of the UK’s leading institutions in environmental research and sustainability.
This scholarship is aimed at future leaders who want to make a difference in climate policy, environmental management, and sustainable development.

Open to domestic students only.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the MSc Climate Change Management Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be UK nationals who are domiciled in the UK
- Have an offer of admission to the on-campus, full-time MSc in Climate Change Management program at the University of Edinburgh
Note: Students enrolled in the online version of the MSc program are not eligible for this scholarship.
Selection Criteria
Applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- A clear motivation for studying climate change
- Strong alignment between their career goals and the MSc program
- How the scholarship would enable them to accept the admission offer and succeed academically
- Financial need, which may be considered in borderline decisions
