Types of Scholarships
Florida Bright Futures Scholarship provides four different scholarship options for eligible students. The scholarship types and their requirements are outlined below:
1. Florida Academic Scholarship (FAS):
- Minimum 3.50 weighted GPA
- Completion of 100 service hours or 100 paid work hours
- Successful completion of 16 high school course credits
- Attainment of a minimum ACT®/SAT® score by June 30th of the high school graduation year
2. Florida Medallion Scholarship (FMS):
- Minimum 3.00 weighted GPA
- Completion of 75 service hours or 100 paid work hours
- Successful completion of 16 high school course credits
- Attainment of a minimum ACT®/SAT® score by June 30th of the high school graduation year
3. Gold Seal Cape Scholarship (GSC):
- No specific GPA requirement
- Completion of 30 service hours or 100 paid work hours
- Completion of 5 CAPE (Career and Professional Education) postsecondary credit hours
- No required ACT®/SAT® score
4. Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship (GSV):
- Minimum 3.00 weighted GPA in nonelective courses
- Minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA in career education courses
- Completion of 3 full credits in a single Career and Technical Education program
- Completion of 30 service hours or 100 paid work hours
- No specific required courses
- Attainment of a minimum ACT®/SAT® or P.E.R.T. exams score by June 30th of the high school graduation year

Scholarship Benefits:
The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship for the academic year 202324 in the United States will provide full and partial coverage of tuition fees for the chosen students, encompassing 100% and 75% respectively.
Eligible Nationalities:
- All Florida residents and U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens are eligible to apply for FBFS Scholarship USA
Eligibility Criteria:
- Complete the FFAA (Florida Financial Aid Application) by the deadline of August 31 after high school graduation.
- Obtain a standard Florida high school diploma from a Florida public high school, a registered Florida Department of Education (FDOE) private high school, or successfully complete a home education program.
- Have no felony conviction or plea of nolo contendere, unless granted clemency by the Governor and Cabinet serving as the Executive Office of Clemency.
- Receive acceptance and enroll in a degree or certificate program at an eligible Florida public or private postsecondary institution.
- Enroll in a minimum of six nonremedial semester credit hours (or equivalent in quarter or clock hours) per term.
